Sea Freight
Horizon Freight has been expanding steadily over the past few years and today is on the accurate trajectory to becoming a global freight forwarding company — with a dedicated team of ocean freight specialists majoring in client service.
The Port of Colombo is one of the busiest transshipment ports in South Asia, and we use that to your advantage. Full container loads sail direct where volume justifies it; smaller consignments move on our LCL consolidations; and cargo that will not fit a box goes break bulk or Ro-Ro.
You will have the pleasure of knowing your freight is supervised earnestly to make certain of a secure and prompt arrival at terminus — with booking confirmations, sailing updates and arrival notices sent before you have to ask for them.

Common questions
What is the difference between FCL and LCL for my shipment?
FCL gives you an exclusive container and generally the lowest cost per cubic metre once you fill roughly half a 20ft box. Below that, LCL consolidation is usually cheaper because you pay only for the volume or weight you use. Send the dimensions and we will price both.
Can you arrange shipper-owned containers or chartering?
Yes. SOC containers, container purchase or lease and full or part vessel chartering are all available, and are worth considering for repeat project volumes or unusual trade lanes.
Do you handle Maldives sea freight?
Yes. Our Male office handles inbound sea freight to the Maldives, including consolidation and reworking of cargo arriving through Colombo.
